starter problem or battery problem?

i just put the carbs back on my 1996 gxs and now when i try to crank it over the starter just makes a hum and trys to start every few seconds. I took the plugs out and then when i cranked it the starter would spin the pistons.....is my starter bad ir is my battery weak???

Sounds like it is the a weak battery, or a loose battery connection. If you charge it pull it out of the doo or charge it in a well ventilated area and not connected to the seadoo wiring.

its a gtx not a gxs, i dont know if that makes a difference

That shouldn't make a difference, but you should list your seadoo model better in you avatar. Look at mine for example.

Huh, you sure its not a "gsx-r"...:rofl:
Nah stud, like Karl mentioned, double check the connections, anything loose/corroded..etc, no good, replace(auto parts store has cables), and at same time, have battery tested, too..:cheers:
