Starter for 1998 GTX RFI

I just rebuilt the top end on one of my skis and now need to replace the starter. I was wondering about the best brand Tom purchase. I have heard, and seen in posts on here, to stay away from SBT. Anyone have brand suggestions?

Aftermarket starters are junk. Rebuild your OEM.

I have installed hundreds of pro tourque starters in my career and only had a few that where bad.not the cheap versions the more expensive version.have also rebuilt the oem ones and had oems rebuilt by a starter rebuild company.i prefer going with a new starter.just my opinion though.spend the money on a good aftermarket starter and will last j7st as long

do you need to remove expansion chamber to change starter ?

No use a long 1/4 inch extension long enough to get the ratchet to the back of motor

aftermarket starter had 3rd mount flange. had to loosen up the exhaust for clearance. But done ..
