Hi guys, whats the best way to check the starter while it's still intact on the engine? (Sea Doo 96 GSX). I recently removed engine to work on top end and am debating if I should just install new starter while I've came this far.

Thanks

Jumping solenoid!

Follow your red (positive) wire from the battery into the electrical box. Remove this cover. In there, you'll see the solenoid for the starter. Take a large gage wire, or two screw drivers and cross the two points where the wire breaks between the controller (solenoid) and you should get the starter to roll over. If it only clicks, the starter is bad..............
