Ok I have this 95 speedster and have had a few probs with it. I fixed the water leaks that were coming from the exhaust replaced a few hoses and now today when I took the boat out I was going full throttle and my starboard engine wont go past 6000 rpm (the port side is fine) after riding back to shore I shut the engine down put it on the trailer checked to make sure nothing was in the intake grate now the engine wont crank over with the plugs in it (there was no water in the cylinders) I am at a loss for this my port side engine fires right up and I have both engines hooked to the same batt the cables are tight I don't know what else to look at.

the weird thing with this issue is the other day when I had the boat out the engine would go from full throttle to 4000 rpm I would stop shut down both engines restart them and it would be fine has this happened to anyone?

On the problem'ed engine... you need to clean the carbs. When they start to get marginal... you will get RPM fluctuations. SO... STOP RUNNING THAT ENGINE !!!! Remember... on a 2-stroke, the fuel cools the pistons, and transports the oil. Going lean is very hard on it.

The starter sounds like another issue. If it will spin with the spark plugs out... and it's hooked to a known good battery (starts the other engine) then I'd say you either have a bad cable... or it's simply time to rebuild the starter. DO NOT buy an aftermarket replacement. The import starters all suck. Get a rebuild kit, and clean it up yourself. You will save $$$.

Thanks for the reply I have stopped using the boat I am thinking to replace this engine or maybe have it rebuilt as I only have 120 psi in the jugs my other engine has 140 I was able to get it to crank today (this morning) so I am thinking the starter is weak not sure what I am gonna do at this point I am kinda tired of playing with this boat so many small repairs seems like as soon as I fix one thing another breaks I might sell it and buy a newer one gotta talk with the wife and see.
