Stainless Staples

Hey, been taking a hiatus. Going to finally winterize as last ride was 2 weeks ago. Going to recover my seat which has a valley type rip across the seat where the edges have uplifted/ slightly curled. I took out one of the staples and its a 1/4' crown with 1/4" legs. Any help finding them in grade 316? I can find 5/8" 304 grade. Any issues with using grade 304?
Also two schools of thought. Tear off the old before putting on the new. Or, shaving the high spot and filling the gap with like foam and go for it.
Thanks and Merry Christmas,
Fractus:coolgleam:

Home Depot at least here carries 3/8" stainless steel staples in stock, I'm thinking they were $5.00 to 6.00, plus no shipping charges. It does say on the box "not for marine applications", but I figure that means constant exposure to water. I use them on my trailer bunks last year and so far no signs of rust.

Arrow part no. 506SS1

Lou I see sis has changed her suit for fall!? Also I need 1/4" crown T-50 are about 3/8" although t-25 are 1/4" I only have those in a rounded crown and will not fit...
I have a HF pnuematic as I don't want to put 2gazillion staples in by standing on the piece and squeeze!:agree:

I took that picture of Sis when she was looking for Brent Vandelay (Heir to the Vandelay fortune). I took the picture in Ft. Lauderdale, she's lookin pretty good.

I getting a compressor for Christmas, and was thinking about getting a HF pneumatic stapler, how's it work?
