Stages

I've seen a lot about performance mods and I'm unable to find an explanation of what the various "stages" are. Can anyone provide a simple explanation of "Stage 1", "Stage 2", "Stage 3" and even "Stage 4" mods?

Most companies have their own version of what the stages are. It depends on what company you are dealing with. There is no specific stage that is used.

Can you give an example? They don't make any sense to me. Is it just marketing, in that State 1 is a cheap upgrade, Stage 2 is more expensive, etc?

You are correct. The more items in the upgrade the more it costs... Companies will vary as to what they include in their own different stages. You need to compare different companies as to what you are getting in the stage you want and go from there. One company might call stage 1 that includes intake and carbs, while another might call stage 1 that has intake, carbs and extra water cooling feed...it depends on the company and what thay want to include in the stage.
