check your local laws, it can vary state to state. the universal rule is that there has to be enough capacity on the vessel for any passengers and the skier. some states require a mirror/mirrors and a spotter, other states only require either mirrors or a spotter. if your state requires mirrors and a spotter, you won't be able to use an SPX as there wouldn't be enough space on the ski. if you have to have a 3 seater then a GTX or later year GTI/GTS would be the ticket, and they'll be larger and not get pulled around as much when you carve.
actually, even if its legal, i can't imagine pulling a wakeboard on a 2 seater would be much fun at all, since even just a slalom skier can pull a 20' boat off course, it would be the tail wagging the dog for sure.
