spx wake boarding

bought a new wakeboard, then my dad sold our ski boat :(, so i went out and bought a 96 spx, just for fun, but i was wondering if any body has or if its even possible to tow a wakeboarder on one, if not i now have a wake board for sale :/

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is illegal to tow anything behind a SPX, the law requires a 3 person ski, driver, observer and a place on the ski for the wake boarder.

Yep... what he said. There are very few places... other than a private lake... that will allow towing with a 2 person ski.

Thats what I thought , but I read somewhere that in tennessee if u have mirrors you can tow with just the driver, I quess I'll just have to ride behind our pontoon

check your local laws, it can vary state to state. the universal rule is that there has to be enough capacity on the vessel for any passengers and the skier. some states require a mirror/mirrors and a spotter, other states only require either mirrors or a spotter. if your state requires mirrors and a spotter, you won't be able to use an SPX as there wouldn't be enough space on the ski. if you have to have a 3 seater then a GTX or later year GTI/GTS would be the ticket, and they'll be larger and not get pulled around as much when you carve.

actually, even if its legal, i can't imagine pulling a wakeboard on a 2 seater would be much fun at all, since even just a slalom skier can pull a 20' boat off course, it would be the tail wagging the dog for sure.
