Spring break to florida keys questions

Hey guys, so my buddies and I are planning a spring break trip to florida keys and planning on backcountry camping on some islands. Being from Minnesota I've never had an engine of any sort in salt water. Besides the standard flush and spray the engine steps does anyone have any additional tips? The boat will be in the water for up to 3 days at a time.

I have a 2004 seadoo sportster 4-tec

Also since I always seem to have issues with my 2strokes in the spring I assume I might have some issues with my 4-tec. So I would like to test it before I drive 1900 miles to find something wrong. The only problem is my river water is at about 33 degrees right now. Is that hard on the engine? I see there are other fishing boats out there right now.

As long as your engine is not hot and up to temp when you start it in cold water there will be no issues.

The closed looped system could care less, but anything that the river water touches could be an issue if the engine was up to normal operating temp when you start the ski in cold water.

So basically, cold engine in cold water start and you are good to go..
