I just bought an 04 Sportster 155 but I keep hearing mixed things about taking them in the salt water. Some people tell me its fine as long as I flush them right after and some say to completely stay away? Also, I live in CT and I hear to only say in the river or lakes and don't try to go into the ocean because I wont make it...what are your thoughts??

Salt water operation is not a problem. Before you go, spray the complete engine down with WD40 or something similar to help protect from salt corrosion. When you're done, flush the exhaust for up to 5 minutes. Make sure you start the engine before you turn on the water. Then turn off the water, rev the engine a few times and turn it off. Then you should take the hose and wash the salt water off of everything, especially the engine and the jet pump. Then spray it all down with WD40 again.
