Hey everyone, not sure if anyone has had this happen and I would love to get your opinions and insight.

I installed a new(rebuilt) engine in my 96 sportster(717) and ran the boat about 5 times this summer, the engine was broken in correctly and ran flawlessly each time. The boat hasn't been run in about a month since the weather is cooling off. Last night, I went to start the winterization process and noticed some oil in my bilge. The oil is only on the right side of the bilge(please see pics) around the oil pump under the airbox. My question is, does oil drip from the pump when the boat has been sitting or am I looking at a larger problem. I know it's hard for anyone to answer the question without seeing the boat but I thought I would throw it out there just in case someone had the problem before.

As always, all of your help and insight is greatly appreciated.

I know Dr. Honda had the same boat as mine so I was just wondering if your old boat did the same thing.

Thanks!

You could have some sepage from the lines. I do know when you bleed the system no matter what you never catch alll the oil and some will get by and show up later. I knew this since I changed brands of oil and the seaoo oil is that standard oil color and the replacemet was purple. I was soaking up seadoo oil for awhile. I would check the bleed screw and small oil lines just to make sure one didn't come loose or pop off. You can use a mirror on flexable rod if you didn't want to remove the aircleaner right away to very the leak.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I just found some more on the motor mount so I guess I will just start taking the airbox off and look around. I was pretty sure after we bled the oil pump and ran the boat a couple of times i couldn't find anymore oil. I'm hoping it's just the lines or the screw and not the new engine.
