sportster impeller

Anyone out there running an after market impeller on their boat, if so what pitch? I notice stock is a 10/21 on sc sportster model, i see on other threads a 13/18 is recommended.
i'll be interested in any feed back on these impellers on 215 sportster.

A mechanic I spoke with when I was changing over a damaged impeller for a 2005 sc speedster told me that Seadoo were trialing a variety of pitches and impellers with a variety of motors to find a sweet mix, hence the reason they generally didn't stamp the impellers with the pitch codes.

From my little book of figures, it indicated that the 185hp sc used the 10-21 pitch while the non sc version used 13-23 pitch, which seems backwards to me. I would have thought that given the greater horsepower of the sc motors, a high pitch would have been used. I will have to have a look at the pitch on my 2005 to see what I am currently running and let you know.

thanks, i have seen a few sites mentioning the 13/18 or 12/19. just would like to know if anyone has one on their boat before i purchase one or the other.

I'm on the Gold Coast. You?? In relation to the 13/18 or 12/19, not that I know too much, but I would suggest the pitch would be a little low, affecting the top end speed. It depends obvious on what you are intending on doing with it though I guess.
