So the boat does take on water, the seal seemed to be holding and no apparent leaks from exhaust gaskets. I would run the bilge to minimize the spray going everywhere.
The boat ran fine day 1. On day 2 I would throttle up and start moving then it would die. I could get the boat restarted but it would throttle up and die out shortly after. So I pulled the plugs, they were wet. I dried it out, put gas into the plug hole to get it running which worked but I could only get 5-10 mph out of it. I got it back to the launch and brought it home.
So I ran it with the plugs out to get the water out as much as I could. Put it back together and I could not get it to fire up again. I did a compression test and the number 1 cylinder (closest to seats) was reading 0. The other was getting around 120 or so but my battery was having trouble spinning the engine with the plugs in. With the plugs out it spins fine but that may be due to the battery being low.
So here are the pics. On the bad jug you can see rust and heavy oil covering as well as water in the exhaust port.
What should be my next steps?
