Sportster 1800 Twin Rotax (1999) - which battery?

Hi

I have acquired a 1999 Sportster 1800 (Twin Rotax) which needs a bit of tidying, but first I need to get it running!

The battery currently with it is a small car battery, can anyone give me the spec. of the battery required, please?

Most of them use a 24 series battery.

Hi, thanks. I really am new to this. Is a 24 series just a physical size? What is the ampere rating needed for this boat.

Also, can I use standard 2-stroke oil from the local filling station?

Feel a bit naive here!

You should NOT use standard two stroke oil. There are a thousand threads on here discussing the different brands. Rotax isn't an outboard or a snowblower. I'm sure if you search on here you will quickly find the answer. I use brp oil but most will tell you that I'm over paying!!
