Hi Guys,

after a long time, im very happy found this seadoo forum.
I´m from Germany, and it feels like no one is owning a Speedster/Sportster, too. Its so rare in Germany that we have to pay 15000 Euro (17 000 USD) for a more or less driveable Seadoo boat. And even if you own one, nobody can give you answers to your questions.

First question is: Last winter we bought a Sea doo Sportster 150 SCiC of 2006. In case of the operating hours we had to revise the supercharger, the wearing, the impeller and some small things we paid 4000 Euro (4500 USD) is this a normal price???

Secound question: The dealer always said this is a bad engine with a lot of technical problems. What would you say?

Third question: Also the dealer told me, because of the revised supercharger we have to drive 2 hours under 3000 RPM. Is this right? Today i drove 1 hour with 2500 RPM, in my opinion its enough.. but correct me if i am wrong.

Last question: How fast is this boat? Im totally suprised how much power this boat have. I did 50 km/h today..absolutly crazy

hope you guys can answer my questions

greetings from germany

Welcome to the forum.

The parts you listed would run you approximately $750 USD. I do all my own work, so I can't say how much a dealer would charge to do the work, but it certainly wouldn't be $4500 over here. I did have to buy some specialty tools to do the work, so you'd have to take that into consideration.

I disagree with your dealer saying the engine has lots of technical problems. I have the same engine in my 2006 Challenger 180 and I've had no problems with it at all. Sea-Doo has used this engine or a variation of it since 2002 and they still offer it today in the non-supercharged version.

As far as running the boat for 2h under 3000rpm after a supercharger rebuild....... That's news to me and I certainly didn't do that when I rebuilt mine.

Lastly, that boat should do 80-90kph. I'm assuming you meant 50mph right?

Hi C9R0J0, i really appreciaten your answer.

I really meant 50 km/h, because i didnt use the full throttle :D.

Unfortunately we are totaly dependet to the dealer. Im a mechanical engineer, so im not that new in this technical topic, but in Germany the boat needs a 100% sea-doo dealer history, otherwise you‘ll lost a lot of money when you sell it again.

Nice to know that there is someone who can give answers :thumbs-up::thumbs-up:
