Hey guys would ya mind posting you Max speed, and max rpms for your boats. specify if it is a single engine or a twin, and full tank, half tank, how many riders and gear etc etc...

Thanks...

I just don`t remember what I should expect from our challenger 1800...

:facepalm::lols:

in my old boat, 98 speedster with twin 787's, max rpms i think was 7200. it would hit 53-54 on gps. Thats on calm water with 2 people in it, fuel usually between 1/2-full. Of course that was a 16 footer. i would expect your challenger to do 50-52ish

That is about what my '98 Speedster does. All of us northern people won't be giving you an answer until Memorial day.

Only one trip on boat,98 challenger 1800 787's.low fuel light on,me and my 11 year old son.6600 or 6700 rpm felt like aleast 45 or 50 mph.Speedo does not work, next season will tell, after winter repairs

98 challenger 1800. Best I ever got, if I remember right, was 49 by gps. Me and the wife, half tank of fuel, tools and regular gear, and running skat-traks. Running pretty close to the rev limiter I think, both tachs above 7000.

Haven't had it wide open since the repower, will let you know next spring.

97 single 140MM pump 6 veins, 787 110hp, GPS Speedo on lake
1 person 50-52mph 7000RPM approx. ½ a tank gas
2 people 45-47mph 7000RPM approx. ½ a tank gas
3 people 43-45mph 7000RPM approx. ½ a tank gas
2 people 43-45mph 7000RPM one being pulled on raft filled hard approx. ½ a tank gas
2 people 40-43mph 7000RPM one being pulled on raft filled soft approx. ½ a tank gas

Full tank 27gal is about 5mph slower on all

99 challenger 1800 with twin 787's
81mph going north I-75 with full tank of gas and wife in the front seat, :D

Seriously:
51 mph at 6950rpms and 40gallons of fuel. Smooth water with a slight tail wind.

Yeah, those trailer wheel bearings were smoking. LOL
Our average speed is usually 45-50 depending on conditions. Been very happy so far with the top speed rpms and the "hook up" from a standstill.
Andy, The way I look at it is, if your boat has decent rpms at wot, as well as, a good hole shot, then that is all anyone can ask for. We all know about the seadoo "dream-o-meter" speed-o-meter, but does your tach reflect your actual rpms??

on the Dreamo it would be the better side of 50 mph, and so far max rpms are back and running at 7k +- 50 rpm...
didn`t verify the tach operation , that was the next step if my R`s didn`t come back... there def is a big sound difference between 6500 and 7k, they just sing along like an angry weed whacker!:lols:

That's dangerous! Glad you don't boat in my water!

That’s on clear water, straight ahead (no zig zag) on a 4 person raft and one crazy dude (brother in-law about 170lb) going for the ride. this is not an everyday occurrence or just anyone.
As far as speed goes speed is based on boat weight (1/2/ tank or less, 14gal or less) and tuning the boat not just to engine with all of your tips and a PWC race manual. As I stated before in postings I like 1 engine one problem to manage and I don’t see this as a boat, it is a PWC that seats 3 horizontally. For even more power and reliable, try a little sandpaper in the intake and exhaust manifold nothing big just smooth out the rough spots and edges (it the polishing from Porting and polishing (don’t take apart the crush ring, $$$$)), tune the RAVE values to you boat (not some generic setting) also manage the water intake better for the tuned pipe with the Water regulator valve and hose diameter (Tuning).
I live in a great delta area where I can lunch and tune on the river as were moving or setting still at a dock in less than hour.
Good luck guys. as for Buckeye_Paul, really! I mean really! crossing the street in Ohio I heard is dangerous.
