Speedster SK dash buttons not functioning

Just replaced the battery in my speedster, this one has the Mercury M2 jet drive. However since then, none of the dash board buttons are functioning. However all gauges function perfectly and everything else is running fine. Any idea what could be the problem? I also noticed that all the backlights for the buttons are lit. Its a bit worrying on the water when you can't use the bilge pump, horn, lights, and etc...Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I dunno about the merc powered boats, but on my 98 there is a single red power wire at the battery switch that powers all those. Since you say you changed the battery, double check to make sure there are no wires not connected.
