So check this out.

I pulled the intake grate to clean some weeds out and do an inspection and found this.

I used a feeler gauge around the impeller and it is at .009 inch. Is that good? Everything looks really good as far as i can tell except for the blemish on the blade. You can see it in the pic to the right.

First pic is with a light shining in the nozzle.

10-thousands is the norm max. In the first pic the gap looks HUGE to me.

Yea, when I first looked in there I thought "oh crap!"

That's why I broke out the feeler gauge. I can get a 10 thousand to fit if I really shove but 9 feels good.

What about that blemish? Should I be worried about it?

Thanks for the help!

I have a 2008 seadoo RXT 215. Got a rock stuck in impeller. Can I remove the grate easily? Any instructions? Anything to watch out for when doing this?

only worry if you get cavitaion, you'll know when you get it. just keep doing visual inspections, then you know whats going on with the impeller and pump.
the problem with feeler gauges is that they really pick up the grooves that form in the wear ring, these also lead to cavitation.

I notice that your sharks fins are busted up too. I was advised on the other forum to cut mine off, which I did. This might have cost me a bit of top end.

Your impeller will be ok the way it is but you might want to get it tuned up and change your wear ring in the off season.

I saw those and kinda scratched my head on that. Will those little things effect the speed of these machines?
