Speedster hull leak

I have a 2007 150 Speedster. A week ago I noticed quite a bit of water in the bilge and found the pump had failed. Fortunately I keep the boat on a jet dock. Put new pump in and didn't give it a lot of thought.

I used the boat this week, checked the bilge once back at the dock but left the boat floating for the night. In morning, lots of water in the bilge again. Auto float switch also bad sopump had not cycled but more important, needed to figure out where did all the water come from.

Pulled the boat on trailer added water to bilge and red dye. Finally found the leak. The cockpit drain which runs to the jet tunnel is attached with cheap black plastic bilge pump hose. The thru hull has a ball style check valve thank god. The hose had a substantial crack right near the fitting at the jet tunnel.

Fist, I am astounded that this installation is allowed for a below waterline fittings. Second amazed they used the lousy flimsy black plastic bilge hose. Third, they put no real shut off valve at the thru hull.

So everyone be careful of this. It is a mystery after many years why this hose cracked. The fitting is virtually impossible to reach the hose clamps without disassembling substantial portions of the exhaust system. Any ideas on this repair? Anyone have a ten inch man with the strength of Atlas to lend me?

Ironically, my son was using it yesterday and almost did have it sink on him. Exhaust host came off right at the exhaust box, boat started getting heavy blue pump came on. He called the state patrol for a tow and after a couple minutes of panic found the hose and stuck it back on.

I headed there today (it's in the water still) and am hoping the engine is ok. Looking at the manual, as long as the water didn't get to high the motor should be ok. I will pull the spark plugs and turn it over and see if there is any water, but is there anything else? He said the water didn't get too deep I. The bilge whatever that means.

Follow up and request for input. In putting the exhaust hose back on the exhaust box, it became apparent that the input side of the box does not have a long enough hose barb to put two hose clamps on. Anyone else observe this and what did you do
