Hi guys, posted this under PWC and wondered why no reponses? Doubpt!!

Anyways, is anyone concerned about leaving ethanol based gasoline in thier boats system over the winter? Im hearing stuff from regular boaters that the stuff messes up the fiberglass tanks, fuel lines and other crap if left to sit for a few months over the winter? Opinions-experience?

Also just got back from LakeGeorge NY from a week of vacation with my boat (yea I had to bring the family too). I was surprised how little traveling I got out of the tank which I believe in a 95 200speedster is 40 gallons. I est I got about 50 miles or so running it about 1/2 speed up on plane and slow speed about 10mph off plane-

What kind of distance are you guys getting per tank?

Thx

I usually use about a tank each day... doesn't seem to matter if I'm going far or not ;)

As for ethanol, make CERTAIN that you put fuel stabilizer in the tank and that it gets throughout the fuel system, carbs, etc. Ethanol fuel will absorb lots of water.

As for the fuel lines and tank etc, your boat (2005, not 1995, right?) was designed with ethanol fuel in mind.

EDIT: I think I'm wrong, someone else posted that only '07 and newer was ethanol ready... but it still will not be a problem if you stabilize the fuel. None of the lines or tank or fittings will be damaged by the E10 we are now running.

If you had an older boat, pre '1996, the fuel lines were not ethanol safe, and would disintegrate and clog up the fuel system
