Hi I am looking to purchase a 200 speedster 430hp wake boat.
what do I need to ask when buying one and how do they perform in the ocean. Do they actually have a wake to ride on ballast?
and who has one for sale.
thanks in advance bob

I didn't know they made a speedster wake boat. Speedsters are for speed. The get up on plane instantly with their flat bottoms and take off like a bat outta hell. There's not much freeboard either and I think a ballast bag would sink a speedster. lol :)

With the 215hp motors, you need to watch out for exhaust valves. I hear the stock valves on models up to 2007 had a tendency to snap off and fall into the motor causing all sorts of calamity inside. Also, superchargers need to be rebuilt every 100 hours or so. Last but not least, some people will tell you to replace the flywheel bolts with new ones, but that might have been a non-issue at some point as I think Seadoo fixed that problem. Also, there was something about timing chains on years 2008-2011 (I think). Sorry for all my uncertainty, I have an 03 and am mainly concerned with that model year.
