Speedster 200 Starboard Only Engine and Gauges No Power

Hey all, its been forever since I've had a chance to get my 05 Speedster 200 4-tec SC out on the water... going on 3 years. Luckily I had a bunch of fuel stabilizer in it so when I pumped out the tank it actually still looked and smelt like gas, just a hint darker than normal, but didn't smell like varnish or vinegar, wasn't gunky, no chunks.

So I put in 5 fresh gallons and sea foam and let it sit and got my battery charged up... insert lanyard and the port engine gauges flash and rpm cycles, and it starts right up. The starboard engine is like I don't even have a battery in the boat... the gauges don't move, the engine doesn't even attempt to start.

What's more is I don't get any beeping from the DESS and the fuel gauge does not budge either. I tried reseating the lanyard a couple dozen times and each time the port side will gauges will cycle like normal (despite no beeps) and can start, the starboard gauges and starter have zero life.

I thought perhaps I didn't connect all the grounds, but I have 3 grounds and connected them and looked for any that might have tried to hide, no missing ground cables to be found. I only have one hot cable from the battery that goes to the disconnect switch.

I tried looking at all the fuses in the 3 boxes... driver cubby and the 2 in the engine compartment, didn't see any problems.

I almost feel like it is something with the DESS, where it is not sending a power relay signal to the Starboard side engine. The blower works fine, port side everything works fine... the only symptoms are no life from the starboard side engine or gauges, no beeping from DESS and no fuel gauge activity (fuel gauge maybe unrelated though).

Anyone been down this road or have any ideas to start troubleshooting and/or where I should be looking for power downstream using a multimeter?

FWIW, I tried pressing the start buttons (diagnostic mode) with lanyard out. 1 time, 5 times, press and hold.. with each button and actually doing them together also. No beeps, no gauges, nothing happened. I don't know if that is even on thing on the S200 but I tried.

Frustration is starting to set in because I've kind of troubleshooted the extent I can without having a wiring diagram, manual doesn't help in this case. I'm hoping someone here has been down this road. I'm leaning more and more towards a lose connection or something blown with the computer that handles the DESS on that engine. Just very strange because the boat worked fine, been buttoned up tight for a few years so it is not like the weather (other than heat) has been getting to it. Never had a problem with it not beeping let alone one of the engines not getting power.

EDIT: I found the shop manual online with a wiring diagram. The wiring diagram didn't help much, but did let me deduce that the problem may be originating in the Engine Fuse Block or the EMS.

The wiring diagram shows that the Speedo, Fuel and Buzzer (Beeper) are all ran off the Starboard side circuit, which makes sense why it is not beeping and those gauges don't work... only the port tach and warning lights work, along with the port motor.

For whatever reason the Starboard electronics are not receiving a DESS signal, or are simply fried. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot without some guidance if anyone has any suggestions besides handing it off to a dealer to repair.

If anyone else needs the shop manual I found it here: http://www.sea-doo.net/SHOPMANUALS/..._04-05_a/2004bateau_a/lmr2004_speedster_a.pdf

Thanks!

I saw that... thanks. You are sir a genius! It was the 15amp fuse was totally corroded to the point it disintegrated. All is working now! I knew there were inline fuses somewhere but I couldn't find them at first. I thought that were "capped" off connections and not fuses because I didn't look closely enough. It is working like a champ, woohoo!

Sweet man, glad you go it fixed. I took some pics but seems you found the fuses. Any idea why it corroded? The cap has a green seal in it, might want to make sure its there.
