Hey guys got a question. I recently changed my wear rings in the pumps on my boat. Before i did this the reverse gate was working. I just put everything back together and the gate wouldnt budge. So i disconnected the gate from the cable and I couldnt budge the lever. Doesnt make sense seeing everything was fine before.

Anythoughts on what to check before i order a new cable?

I have not had these parts in my hand, but take a look for a place you may have pinched the cable housing. This would lock it up for sure.

Hmm... well i was in the engine compartment taking off my superchargers to get rebuilt, it is possible i was stepping on the cable even though i was trying not to screw anything up.

check the outer sleeve bass pin is in the bracket correctly, disconnect both ends of the cable to see if the cable is free or not.

Well I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but the problem was that the throttles were moved all the way forward so that the reverse lever was locked in placed from moving! Oops, glad I didn't order the $120 shift cable.
