Speedster 200 front Console Latch Repair

Just called the dealers and was quoted $224.99 for a new latch kit for the front console on my 05 Speedster 200, I was certain it was a typo at first but no...... I cannot imagine I am the only one who has had problems with these, difficult to press in, no key, sticking/jamming etc - tried lubricating no real improvement. Has anyone else found a replacement or suitable way to fix these without costing the earth? I am assuming that it is only a spring and a few plastic parts??

If this does not help, post some pictures of your latch and maybe we can help find some aftermarket parts that will work for well under $200...
