Hi everyone. Been a while since the last time here. However, I have been searching and reading but can not find anyone who has rebuild their exhaust system to a non freshwater cooled. Preferably a well isolated system to get the heat out of the engine compartment. I have a 310hp speedster and figure it must be possible to run without freshwater cooling. Then the boat would be more useful/reliable. Have read this post but I feel that someone must have had this idea before...?

I run a lot in saltwater and often have the boat rocking in the ocean for half a day when swimming, playing etc. it would be a nightmare if it does not start after a days sunbathing when I want to go home..

A closed loop exhaust would still more than likely utilize some sort of heat exchanger that would use "source water" to transfer the heat to.

If you used something like the heat exchangers in the ride plates or the 2 units like I had on my 210, they would have to be pretty big to dissipate the heat generated by the exhaust. Not sure there's enough room under the boat for a system like that.

I'm sure something could be fabbed up, but not sure the cost would be worth it.
