I know there is alot of info on this out there and I have reviewed as much as I can find but noone has a specific location in a speedster 200 hull identified. The twin 4tecs take up alot of realestate and theres not much floor space left.

There is a spot dead center all the way aft right in front of the butplug that would be optimal-ANyone see any reason not to put it here?

I dont have the luxury of droppin the boat in water and hull testing different locations.

Thx

I have just finished the installation of a hawkeye dephtsounder in my Speedster 200. I decided to place the sensor just in front of the but plug, close to the pump.
I will try it out tomorrow and post the result and pics too.

200 -05 Speedster DepthFinder sensor position-FINALIZED!

OK, I epoxied the puck INHULL sensor of my Uniden QT206 DepthFinder, right infront of the BUTTPLUG and behind the Bilge pump, dead center on hull and it worked great this weekend!

A few things to note:

The Bilge pump will weep water continously as your up in there working so I wrapped a small hand towel around it to suck it up.

I then wiped the floor, sprayed starting fluid on the area and wiped it clean-it squeeked with my finger so I know it was greese free as well.

I mixed up LOCTITE Epoxie , I got it at Home Depot 50/50 mix

Scooped it out of the mix dish with a puddy knife and laid about 1/8" smear on the hull

Pushed the puck into it and held it firm for about 3 minutes-it was set in 5, just make sure you get your hand towel out too before it hardens as it may capture some fibers and make it tough to get it out.

Also make sure you dont get too much Epoxy on it and have it run into the Buttplug.

The Uniden has a sensitivity knob on the rear of the gauge, you'll need to fool with it to get it in range-then it worked fine up on plane and puttin!
