Hi from very far away. I normally could find solutions in the old threads, but decided to register for this one.

This AM (it's mid-summer down here) my Speedster 200 (430Hp supercharged version) refuses to start starboard:
Have never had any issues, always starts first time, and has been fine for last three weeks
Well maintained, was serviced less than 30 hours ago
Port engine starts no problem
No battery issue (have twin batteries), starboard spins merrily
Have checked the two main fuses next to solinoid
Have checked the little box of fuses with fuel pump, and cylinder fuses
Have checked that the fuel pump powers up

Please help?

do you have fuel at the injector rail?? Pull off the hose and see....maybe you have a plugged filter. Had that happen on a race bike of mine...I realize totally different animals but sounds like the same symptoms I had.

Good luck.....you lucky bastard, -5 degrees with snow here!! LOL

Problem found!!

Did check the spark plugs, which were fine.
Did disconnect the fuel line to confirm that fuel gets to the rail, which it was (BTW, the fuel filter is inside the tank on these models - dumb IMO)

Problem was the air fuel bypass valve. At idle it lets air in, when it fails the motor cannot idle. Symptom for troubleshooting: with engine in neutral, let somebody crank the engine while you open the throttle by hand - the engine will start and rev fine, but will die the moment you let the throttle back to idle.

Now to try and get a replacement part down here, the local workshop kindly lent me one from a boat that is in for a total engine overhaul. It's an easy repair if you have a spare. I might try and service the old valve to keep as a spare, would have been unpleasant out on the ocean and re-entering a bitch of a river mouth on one engine if it broke down a few miles off-shore...

Thanks

technical correction, the bad part is called a IDLE BYPASS VALVE but variably also IDLE ACTUATOR or DLA or IDLE VALVE and part number seems to be 420963050. Can be found on the parts catalogue for Air Intake Manifold as part 29 on that list.
