hello, new to this forum. need help with my speedometer on my 97 GSX. my problem is that i was told that my speed sensor was bad, went and replaced it with a used part. tried out, but didnt work. then tested new/used part out and it works fine from what i could see. when i tried to test it hooked up to the pwc i have no reading of voltage. thought might be the wirering going back to the sensor, but ohmed out ok. now i am in a bind and needing help on what to try next. anyone out there that could shed a light on my problem? thanks

So spinning the paddle wheel with compressed air or a hair dryer (on cool) didn't register on the gauge at all?

i get no reading while hooked up to the pwc, but the sensor works when i set up my own little test. so i know that the sensor works i just dont get any voltage reading hooked up the the pwc. the meter reads 0 volts.

Is the rest of the instrumentation turning on? Might be a fuse in the MPEM box that needs to be checked.

no fuses are good and everything turns on i get the digital display and the tach works but not the speedometer.
