When I bought the boat I didn't notice the speedo wheel was missing. Shame on me.

I figured it would just be a matter of ordering a new wheel and cable assembly and it would be done. Wrong.

Bought the new wheel and cable assembly for the 2004 4 TEC.

Took the old cable out of the back and used the seadoo cable tool to remove the pins. When installing it back the colors didn't match exactly. Two cables did and one was a different color. Looking at the schematic the cable shows 3 wire but the leads going to the front connector only show two wires. What gives.

Speedo still doesn't work. We looked at the leads with a ac volt meter to see if we could get any voltage when spinning the wheel. No luck yet.

Anyone have a test procedure to check for output from the wheel.

I might need a speedo gauge but I don't want to buy it if the cable from the rear is the problem.
