Spark plugs only work then the engine is warm

I have a 94 GTX. After changing the float in the fuel tank I try to take the machine for a ride but it won't start. It would crank fine. I could see fuel moving in the line and after cranking it a lot I likely flooded the engine. I cranked it without the plugs and some fuel flew out of the holes. The plug were wet so I tried drying them off. Eventually it would try to fire a bit. After cranking on and off for about half an hour it started. It was fine for the rest of the afternoon., no more starting problems.

Two days later I try to start the engine and it wouldn't start. I put new spark plugs in it and it ran fine. The old plugs were installed last August.

Does that make any sense to anyone?

When is the last time you rebuilt the carbs? Sounds carb related.
The other idea is to check if you are getting good spark,

After you check spark and compression, you could take the carb off, take the cover off the metering side and check to see if there is a leak past the needle or seat, may be what’s flooding the engine

The carbs were rebuild last August. The spark is questionable though. I didn't see a spark with the old plug resting against a bolt on the top of the engine. I used an inline spark tester with the new plugs while it was running and it didn't light up.

Could it be flooding because I was cranking it for a long time with the choke on?

When it won’t start, take the plugs out and put a little pre mix in the plug holes, if it starts then you will know if it’s a fuel issue or not

If it's flooded, wouldn't adding fuel make it worse?
Yes, your right. I was only thinking of the not starting, not thinking that it was because it was flooded. I guess first step would be to check if the needle and seat is leaking or just go ahead and get the back to OEM rebuild kit with new needle and seat
