I'm changing out the plugs on my 97 speedster. Can someone tell me the correct gap needed? For some reason I think it is .21... but this is my first time changing them so I don't really know for sure.

Thanks

newbie question here...

I bought new sparkplugs supposedly for my 97 speedster.

Do I need to do anything beyond screwing them in? I had never heard anything about spark plug gaps before reading this forum. It's got me concerned.

My 2009 180SE calls for .028 to .031 gap. The owners manual should include the info - mine does.

Different boat, different motor, different spark plug, different gap. The question was for a 97 Speedster, with twin 717, 2-stroke.

Yes you should gap the plugs for .021-.022". And Welcome to the SeaDoo forum.

I have a 2007 Speedster with 210hp Rotax engine.. I never received a manual when I bought the boat new in 2007 and the dealer went out of business. Does anyone know the gap for my spark plugs? also, where can I download a manual?

thanks.

Hi and welcome to the SeaDoo forum. You can download a service manual for you boat on this forum, but you will need to join as a premium member. Or you can just google for one and probably find it elsewhere.

You should post your question in the 4-tec boat section of this forum, I'm certain someone there can help you.

I have a 2002 and the shop manual indicates 0.20-0.24. Hope this helps. I wouldnt think there would be a great deal of diffrence since mine is a carburated dual 717 set up like you have.
