Hi Everyone,

I'm about to become a Seadoo owner and are looking to buy a XP LTD
around the year 2000. What I need advice on is how many hours on the ski should I expect? I'm looking at one which has 175hrs over a 9 year period, so roughly 20 hours per year, is that classified as alot? At what stage do these motors require a rebuild, or is it more related to how its treated and maintained over this period.

thanks in advance for advice

Here in Florida the average use in a year is 100 hrs. The rebuild time depends on use factors. That's not many hours considering. I would request a compression test to see what's going on inside the engine. It should be at 150 PSI ideally.

I ride a lot and I put around 100 hours per season. 20 hours per year is not bad. Keep clean fuel and good oil going to the engine and it will last a lifetime without any rebuild. However, you have quite a few years on the machine that you do not know about. Do what Karl recomended.
