Solas Impeller for '05 Sportster 155 hp?

My Sportster has about 100 hrs and the wear ring needs replacing. It runs fine (until a stick wedged in the impeller) and is still stock; about 47 mph@ 7250 rpm max on premium ethanol-free gas and I don't pull skiers or tubes. The impeller has some pitting but no real dings but since I will be removing the pump parts I could upgrade the impeller with the Solas SR-CD-11/19. This is the only one they list for this boat and NA motor.

Has anyone gone this route? Any other mods for a few mph increase, such as intake grate?

i wouldnt go chasing stuff like grate changing for boats, just stay with basics with n/a don't getting caught up in hype about chasing speed.......
just change your wear ring and see how it performs, you can always change your impeller next year if your still not happy. check your air filter, clean the air manifold intake. this may increase your max rpm therefore more speed.

I've been told that the Solas impeller would gain maybe 1-2 mph so I'll just have the wear ring replaced, grease serviced. etc.

limited to 7650 on n/a engines.
without a filter it might be worth looking inside and cleaning the air intake before the manifold.
