There was a thread on them earlier this year... but we never really got a "Report" back on them. I was very interested in one myself, since at the beginning of the summer, there was a shop selling them for $250 shipped.
Hopefully one of the guys who bought them will chime in.
Everything I have read about them has been promising. Soloas normally gives better out of the hole performance and Skat normally gives a slight over-all speed (as in top end but not out of the hole) performance.
I think the advantage to the Solas is, you get the out of the hole performance as well as gain a bit more top speed.
I have purchased one (Solas) and will put it on over winter or early spring depending on my schedule..

But... the Merc drive is a totally different animal. So... you can't compare them to the PWC counterparts. Not to mention... Skat-Trak doesn't make a Merc impeller.
More or less... the only aftermarket impellers are the Solas, and the high skew Merc.
Actually... I did not think his impeller looked that bad... Especially considering looks like he has lost a tine in the grate ( if it got sucked up, I would expect that impeller to be "wrecked")
I would just get that cleaned up... and maybe a little JB weld in the ring area... and be good to go...
