ok i have the 14ft challenger i have only had it for a season now and my wife and daughter wont let me get much over 15mph without having a stroke. im curious as to what i can do with the challenger, when i'm alone to have some fun. can i treat it like a jet ski? will it slide in a full speed sharp turn or will it grab and try to throw me out or tip over? can i jump waves? just wondering what the limits of the boat actually is or if i should just treat it like a fast fishing boat. thanks jeff

Treat it like a big jet ski, I've got a 20'er and its still a big jet ski, I just always notify my passengers to grab the handles when I'm about to have fun. Like a 50mph drift or submarine.

Yep... it's a big jetski. Full throttle, and turn it hard... and it will slide. BUT HOLD ON !!!! You can sub it.... and you can jump as high as you feel safe.

I personally had my 14.5' seadoo a full 3'~3.5' out of the water once. Heck... I launched the Islandia on the last trip out. (lol) but jumping a 22', 5000 Lb boat isn't a good thing to do.

What is a 50 mph Drift???

Yup, you have to warn passengers though and make sure they are holding on. A friend of mind used to have the 310hp speedster. He had a passenger that broke 2 ribs when he was ejected from the passenger seat and slamed into the side of the hull .. ouch!!

I have the same issue with my girlfriend. I have. 1998 Sportster 1800. I really enjoy the boat, but the girlfriend hates it. So I have a couple of choices....new girlfriend, naw she's been with me longer than the boat. Go slower....what was I thinking. Get another boat for her to, as she calls it, "just put put around the lake." Jet. Boats do not put put, they haul a@@. So I bought her a small Cuddy so she and her friends could relax while my friends and I play.

My wife wants my Sporster 1800 to go faster not slower. I am suprised a kid wants to go slower on a boat most kids always want to go faster. I tried just to like put around a lake, I just can't go that slow even in a pontoon I would need on that did at 30Mph. I was on a new 24' Pontoon w/50HP motor with the max amount of peopel and I am pretty sure I was able to swim faster than we were going.

These jet boats are just over sized jet ski's that fit more people and beer onboard. What more could you want except a bathroom maybe.
