Do I decide that I'm going to get the supercharger rebuild before I take the ski anywhere. I've just bought it and it has a genuine 82 hours on her. I do realise that a SC can do 100 hrs between rebuilds but because it's a new ski to me, I didnt want to take any chances...

So... Bottom two bolts came out lovely but the top bolt snapped with about 3 to 4mm sticking out of the SC! Balls!!!

The chap who is going to rebuild the SC for me said he'd have a go at removing it like but he warned me that they are a pig and sometimes it doesnt go well... Tempted to try and drill it out myself...

I reckon that it would have been a better if it were a stud and nut on the end...

Watch some you tube videos on removing broken bolts, there are machine shops that only do broken bolts and they make the most money on people trying to drill them out not knowing what their doing.

If there is no material to get a vice grips on the best method I have seen is tig welding material on the bolt to add material and then use a vice grips. The heat from welding and lubricants usually do the job.

It was stuck in there solid! I eventually took it to a machine shop who managed to drill it out and put an insert in. 75 Euro which isnt bad to be honest and its probably better then the original alloy housing bolt holes...

However, the whole reason was to take it off to get serviced which is a 500 to 550 euro job over here it would seem. So after speaking with a Seadoo specialist in the UK, I've decided to buy a new 260 SC with upgraded injectors. I've paid like 250 euros more than a rebuild, but ended up with a brand new SC that's not only going to give me a power increase, but also it has the extra holes in for better oil flow around the bearings, comes with 12 months warranty, already has the extended life bearings and washer kit within.
So really, I get peace of mind knowing that for at least 2 to 3 years, the SC isnt a problem...

Luckily we have PWC Muscle rebuilding here for $435 US with one way free shipping. He advertises shipping to Australia for an extra $60. You should give him a shout next time.

Just checked the exchange rate and the $ has picked up some strength to the Euro, but a lot can change in two years.
