Smoke/steam from exhaust......is this normal?

So we took our boat out today as it was a super nice outside. I set the display to see the engine temps as I'm trying to get into the habit of taking it easy until the engines are up to operating temps.

As we were exiting the canal after about a 10 minute journey at idle speeds, I was out on the platform putting some items in the trunk. While I was there I noticed smoke/steam coming out of the exhaust. I got a little concerned. I've never noticed this before, but then again, I've never really paid much attention to the exhaust before.

Here's a link to a video of what I saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1vCJGrhbLY

I then had wifey accelerate up to about 20-25 mph and this is what I saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1No4u77hjzw

Our previous boat ('92 Nautique) did this all the time and was considered quite normal. I'm not sure if the same is true for these 4-Tecs.

Water temp was only 60 degrees. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. I did not smell anything unusual like burning oil or anything. I opened the engine compartment and no odd smells there and everything seemed normal. Boat ran great all day.

Should I be concerned?

I believe you are seeing steam. From what I understand, boat owners can see steam where most ski owners do not. I have have to think it has to do with how and where the exhaust dumps.

I own two 4-tec skis and have never seen steam.

We had this same question two-days ago and all came back to believe it was steam..

That's what I thought it was. Engine temps never exceeded 189 degrees. It actually stayed even cooler at times due to the cooler water temps. Our Nautique used the belch steam out the exhaust, but only once under way at a decent clip.

Thanks for the confirmation.
