I have a 97 gts and I just purchased, I took it out on the lake yesterday and it started fine but there is a strong smell of oil burning from the exhaust. I just figured that it was just cause it hasn't been ran in a long time, but the smell posited through out the day. I only smell it when I am going slow or in the wake zone. So today I was checking the oil level when I got home and I noticed that it stated not to use TC-W3 oil, I am using that oil and was told that, that has been the oil used in the boat ever since bought from the dealer. Is this the cause of the oil smell or is there something else.

Thanks

Well i was told to, NOT! use TC-W3 oil on my seadoo Xp-di.

TC-W3 oil will not give your engin the protection it need's on high rpm + it will gum up your RAVE valves very quickly.

I only use the BRP XP-S Synthetic Oil
It's expensive, but it gives a mutch better protection and gives you engin mutch less were and teer.
