Small RPM Stutter

Hey all!

Went out all day this past Saturday. On the way back water was crazy rough and I didn't go over half throttle until I got on the home stretch. I put it all the way up and as it was climbing RPM there was maybe a 1 second stutter like nothing was happening and then it continued on. I pulled the throttle down and pushed back up all the way to see if it would happen again and it didn't. I don't know the exact word to use. It wasn't the same as if it was rev limiting but just as it was gaining speed it cut out for a second. The water was glass so I wasn't coming out of the water.

Anyone have any suggestions on what it could have been and if I should check anything or is this something that can just happen randomly.

Thanks!

Also, could've been something in the gas that made it drop out for a second. I wouldn't be too concerned. No codes on the display, right? Just enjoy it!

Nope no codes or beeps. I hate being new to this stuff because every little thing I'm worried if it's a huge thing.

Couldn't agree more! I am starting to realize that unless you have unlimited funds and unlimited knowledge, they are never going to run perfectly. Just do and hope for the best. Perform regular maintenance and have fun! I put a lot of time into taking care of the boat, unlike the people at my marina who have other people there, working on their boats.

Did it happen as you were passing under a bridge? With cruise control on?

I get a brief rpm drop if I'm using cruise control and go under bridges. The GPS signal is disrupted, which causes the throttle to start to go back to idle. A second later, the GPS signal recovers and the boat goes back to normal.

Took me a few times to figure out what was happening.

I don't think I have cruise control. It was just WOT in the open.

most likely sucked some crap or weed though the pump. i have no grate at all and some times a stick or something goes though causing a shudder for a second.
