First off... wish I had a 96 or newer with a 717, as there is so much uniquenes with this boat... cept it is a much simpler MPEM.
That said, my MPEM did die (winter kill), have had to rebuild the motor, put in a new starter and stator... and once time when the pisser was jammed, it turned my exhaust black.
Also because of this weird copper gasket on the pipes, I've had to order a new pipe setup in order to get a new gasket only to find now that the pipe has a tiny leak.
This leak does fill the bilge, but I am getting alot of water through to the pisser and out the pipe... it doesn't appear to be something like those rusted out plugs, and the pipe is in relatively good shape.
I don't want to rip it apart as putting the copper ring with sealant in is such a PITA and I cannot find these things anywhere as NOS.
Is it possible just to find some sort of silicone tape that would hold? or some sort of makeshift way to keep the water from coming through?
