I have a 96 Seadoo sp and it used to run great. The issue i have is that when i put throttle to fast the engine revs up and the seadoo stops. It feels like a car that clutch is slipping. If i use the throttle very very slow and throttle up slowly it does not do it. I tried to feel the if any thing is loose but donet really know what to check. Where can i start the trouble shooting?

It is your wear ring and possibly the impeller. You can look from the front of the pump intake under the ski.

Shine a flash light thru the nozzle. The gap you should see around the impeller should be minimal. If you think you can fit a dime in there it's shot. Personally, if you have never replaced it, it's time.

The gap from the wear ring to the impeller should be 1mm. Or the width of a dime.

If there is anything wrapped up on the shaft or impeller that will also cause the issue you are having.

after replacing the impeller and wear ring on a 96 GTS that had eaten a log, I had a slipping issue just as you describe.
The cause was that the driveshaft was slipping inside of the PTO.
I replaced both the PTO and driveshaft with used parts and all was fine afterwards.
