Sitting heavier on starboard side

Just wondering if this is a common situation with the Challenger 1800's... Where the boat sits deeper on the drivers side, even with nobody on board?

I understand that the drivers helm has a lot of extra weight, with gauges, control modules, steering cables, throttle mechanisms and the battery in the engine bay as well... But I can't imagine that Bombardier designed it to only float level without those items installed?

So, I have done my best to level the playing field... I swapped the tool/extinguisher compartment with the cooler/storage boxes... Moving the heavier tool box to the port side. I put all of the heavier items in rear storage boxes to the port side. I put the anchor on the port side, I have the engine oil tank filled to capacity (most of the time (it's on the port side).

Even still with all of these tactics, it still sits heavier on the drivers side... Any solutions... Or does it matter?

I have an 02 Challanger 1800 and it sits lower on the starboard side as well. I just figured With dash, steering components, battery, cables and all the other odds and ends running down the starboard side it's inevitable. If you want balance I guess you go to a center console boring fishin boat....I prefer the true drivers seat, drive it like you stole it position ;)

Certainly it would be virtually impossible to keep it level with one person in the drivers seat! However, with it up on plane and somewhere above 35mph, it seems to level out anyways!

The whole point of this discussion is that the boat does turn better when it is riding level... So when riding with a number of people, I "try" to keep people seated in a way that provides a balance, forward and back as well as side to side.

My next levelling tactic is to install a second battery (deep cycle) over on the port side of the engine bay.

I have the 1+2 battery switch and new tray and new cables. The only thing I'm concerned about is moving the blower hose to make room for the battery. Haven't figured that one out yet... And it's not high on my priority list! Lol
