Like the title says, We were on the lake havin a blast w/2 tubes behind the boat. I told my wife's to watch the ski ropes & she grabs em & tells me to take up slack. I put it in gear & the next thing I know she's screaming
. The rope had gotten caught in the intake grate & it sliced her finger in half. We had to be towed in it locked the motor up. The doc is stitching up her finger as I txt. Not sure about the boat yet.

Hope shes okay man! At least when she reads this .. you put her first then the boat ... LoL... Sorry if that was offside ...

OMG.
Hope she is doing better after some happy juice.

Get a pool noodle and cut it down the middle.
Attach it to the rope so it floats behind the boat. Makes it's easier to see and harder to get get sucked in.

Sorry to hear this. We have sucked up a rope before but without harm. Rope control / spotter are really important jobs. Some say you should have separate people doing these jobs to give them the attention they need. I tend to take casual skiing friends with us and they often lose sight of the rope. I have given up on the stereo when skiing / tubing. When I'm driving I won't take off until I have looked at the skier and ropes myself to make double sure.

I second using a noodle for the ski rope. I also use conduit / cable cover on my anchor line after my Fiance sucked that up once too.

The Mrs. hand got 5 stiches and she's doing fine now. Thanks for the tip on the noodle, I actually thought about that last night while I spent 3 hrs in the ER and another 2 waiting at Walgreens for her meds.
