Silly newbie question...

Hey all! I just bought an '03 Challenger X, but I don't know much about it. I was able to play with it a bit on Saturday. WOW!!!! (Now if I could only dock this thing!)

I have a very silly question about the cover it came with. It says "See Doo" all over it - so I assume it is from the factory and not after market. I installed it at the dock around midnight - then had to leave. I did not find any poles for anti-pooling... do all covers come with them, or are they additional? Also, there is a ratchet system for tightening the cover on the right side. I'm concerned because it appeared (in near total darkness) that the ratchet would be at or at least very near the water line. Does this sound like a trailering (only) cover or is it fine to use at the dock?

Thank you in advance, and again - I'm sorry for such a silly question!:D

The Sea-Doo one that came with my '08 speedster 150 had two poles with it. I would assume that yours should have them too. My opinion is that the one from Sea-Doo like I got is more for when it is parked (I never leave mine in the water so I can't say anything about that) than when you are travelling. I have used it a couple of times when going very short distances and it flaps around too much to use at highway speeds for too long (it could ruin the finish on the boat).

First off you shouldn't leave you seadoo in the water for any extended time. The cover is the correct one and might have come with poles. I suggest you have a local canvas company install at least one in the proper place to allow water to run off. Bring it to the canvas company and ask were they suggest to mount a adjustable pole.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback! Should I be pulling it out of the water each time? (Told you I was a newbie...)

The seadoo isn't like an outboard or and inboard/outboard. It is designed to NOT be left in the water for any extended time. I have my 200 speedster on a lift all the time it isn't being used. Seadoo recommends to never leave it in the water for any extended length of time. You could either google information or join here as a premium member to get a manual for some great information on your seadoo. It cost like $10.95 for the month, and you can down load and print off a manual to keep for your own personal and private use. You can also view any and all manuals during you membership. It can be canceled at any time too if you don't need any more information after a month subscription. Click on the "manual" link at the top of the page for more information on the "Premium Membership"
