i picked up a 89 seadoo from a guy and have started working on it and i noticed that another 89 only had one carb, should this motor have two carbs, and where do i hook the water hose when i attempt to start it out of the water.

I think all the early round body carb'ed engines, were a single carb.

in 88, 89, and 90, there was only an SP for a 2 seater. The XP didn't come out intil 91. (with twin carbs)

the GT (3 seater) came out in 90... and it may have been a twin carb.

You should have a single BN38 on your Doo.

If you need one, I have one on the shelf. Used, but clean, and ready to go. (PM me) I took it off, and swapped a Super BN38 in it's place. (They have a built in fuel pump)

Sorry... forgot the other half of your Q.

You may not have a hook up. They weren't standard until later. BUT... if you do have the hook up, it will be on the hose from the head, to the pump. (the main feed) It may have a little orange cap on it. But... you need an adapter. The fitting in the early hulls was half of a quick disconnect.

I have a 89 Sea Doo Bombardier and I will get a pic of the water hock up on mine you will need a adapter.

This is the water hose connection on my ski.
