Should my 2007 Challenger chirp when the key is put on?

I noted in many videos and noting at the marina others with sea doos that you ride they seem to chirp when you put on the key.

My (new to me) 2007 Challenger 180 SE doesn't make any noise when the key is added.

Turn the battery switch on?

Hahaha! Didn't say it wouldn't run, just that it doesn't chirp. I'm guessing you answered my question in around about way that it should. Thx.

Now does anyone know what could be at fault? Simple speaker failure somewhere?

if it runs without issues I would think speaker failure. Do you get any lights or codes or anything else saying there are any problems?

I believe that is considered the "beeper" and is located on the underside of the dash below steering wheel. Check the gauges fuse on the engine fuse block. Since the engine starts I would guess it is that or bad beeper. To replace the beeper remove the dash and swap out.

And you should get two short chirps if everything is good to go when plugging in the DESS key.

Thanks good intel. Who knows the best ways to research and cross reference part numbers. I've been one SEA DOO PARTS link at the top and been searching high and low for a reference.

Guess my reply didn't go through the other day. It appears on parts diagrams as the buzzer assembly, 204470913.

Just take your console off and you can find the buzzer in there. You can put a volt meter on the leads with a max signal option to capture the "beep"
