Should I replace these gray fuel lines on my XP?

I have read a lot of threads saying that I should pull off the gray fuel lines on my 1998 XP, but did not know which ones. The ones coming from the fuel tank to the carbs are black, I don't know if they were replaced or they came with black from the factory, but the only gray lines are one large line going into the rear plud in the side of the hull for bilge, and three gray lines with a red stripe on the carburators. Here are some pics. Which lines were bad for failure? Should I replace these as well, or was the problem with only the ones coming from the fuel tank to the carbs? Thanks!

with the "scratch"($), you got in that motor..I WOULD...except the line, running to the hull (big grey one), looks liketthats the "vent" line. everythnig else, would have gas going thru it..

Heh, thanks bro. That is what I was thinking, better safe than sorry. Thanks for the help!

looks like half of them are replaced. i would replace the remaining ones just to make it easier in the long run. my GSX is totaled and im buying a XP on sunday. it has all grey lines but i was happy to see how easy it is to reach them compared to my GSX. it will be a fun project instead of a long pain in the butt

Ive had my 93 gts for about 8 years, and it still has the grey lines, but still have no problems with them... Im debating changing them

change ALL the grey with red striped ones. funny all that work was done but the most important fuel lines weren't changed. i found most of the gum next to the brass fittings. which just happen to be on the fuel select valve and the carb fittings. good idea to clean the carb filters as well.

Those pictures right there show it all. I will be replacing mine this weekend, Lord willing and I am able.

It looks like your lines have been replaced already, no need to replace those.:hurray:
