Should I buy Hydroturf?

I have a 2002 Seadoo Islandia. I am interested in purchasing hydroturf for the entire floor of the boat. Any thoughts or feedback on this product?

I did hear that due to the size of the Islandia (22 ft.) that I could only get this product in smooth and not cut diamond or other types of cuts. Anybody know for sure if this is true?

Also, I heard if I was a member on this site that I could go somewhere to get a discount on it. True or False? If true, what site is it? Is there a special code that needs to be entered in order to receive the discount?

Thanks everyone!

Definitely worth it, just got mine installed. I would email them first and double check what option you can get it in.

they look good though

Thanks everyone for their feedback. This site is great!

Hopefully I can post some pictures soon (with the hydroturf!)

Ok, so I've purchased my hydroturf and it has arrived. The product looks great but there is NOT a layout chart/map whatever you want to call it as to where all the pieces go. This is for a 2002 Seadoo Islandia. Being that this product comes with a pretty hefty pricetag, I dont want to misplace anything. I called the company whom I purchased it through and they were no help at all. Note: I do not recommend doing business with ad-discountperformance.com, they suck!

So......anyone know where I can find a layout chart/map to install my hydroturf?

Leo,

Sorry to hear you are having problems with that. PWCMuscle.com gives you 15% off all Hydro Turf as a seadooforum member for the future. Try to contact Hydro Turf directly for a layout chart.

They dont supple directions for it. They figure you can figure it out. It is easy really. I went to their site, picked out the kit for my boat, blow up the picture they have and print it. Then match up the pieces yourself. Using a black marker, put a number on each piece, then put the same number on the pic you printed. It was easy and really helped me. Lay it all out on your boat before you start.

This is true. They just have the layout pictures. Not step by step directions.

I dont think I would try the bed liner paint. Id have to say bonehead idea. When wet that stuff is slippery and i am sure it weighs more.

My truck bed is lined with Line-X, and I have not seen conditions where it doesn't grip (well iced over). But when wet mine still grips anything.

Problems I could see with it, it absorbs heat pretty good. Mine being black probably doesn't help, but in the summer it tends to get hot. It's also not very comfortable on bare feet, as it's got a really rough surface.

I didn't have a problem with my boat. But I DID have to cut the pieces to fit. Most of it is symmetrical, so use a piece of cardboard or a roll of painters paper, and map out your own pieces. Then flip the pattern over for the other side. Took me about an hour to do the floor, about another hour to do the swim platform. The swim platform I created from scratch, the floor was cut using the original carpet as a pattern, for the most part, plus some modifications.

here is what I ended up with (yes...not a seadoo...). I have since added two little C-shaped pieces under and behind the captains chairs and a couple of strips behind the engine cover and before you step down to the swim platform. Wife didn't like the little blank space there.

Just try to keep some empty grooves so water can quickly flow toward the back of the boat.

Bedliner gets crunchy with UV exposure. Also, not as gentle on the feet as Hydroturf.

I would hate to take any bedliner to my knees, such as crawling into and out of my boat. Hydroturf is soft as a sponge.

LOL. Man that Maverick is sweet. Is that diamond cut hydroturf on your boat?

Thanks for the KUDOS on my Maverick!

Yes, Diamond cut, with 3M adhesive.

i still have a good bit left, and plan on doing the ski locker, to quiet things down on bumpy days.

I had the same problem but the pics helped. What color did you end up getting and do you have any pics after
