Hey Guys,
Picked up a used XP the other day as some of my other posts mentioned, and so far I've been going through fixing everything that the previous owner screwed up.
He had issues with the VTS, which I fixed. Because he couldn't figure out how to fix it, it looks like he purchased a longer rod so that the trim permanently stays in one place.
The problem is his rod is waaaayyy too long and does not allow for adjustment at all! I looked up the part I need for my 96 and the stock oem rod is waaaaaaaaaaaay shorter. Part number 271000555 .
I'm struggling to find these as they say they are discontinued?
I'm at the point I may just just make my own on the lathe or something, does anyone know where I can find one of these rods or at least the oem specs for it?
Id say the one I have right now is at LEAST DOUBLE the length it should be, forcing the pump in a downwards position with no ability to manually trim it up.
Thanks
Please see pics of the one I have now (old), and the OEM one I need
Edit: I think I'm just going to do a cut and weld, so if anyone can get me the proper lengths that would be great
