Shaking engine and leaking cooling line

Hello,

So the other day we were on the water and one of the engines started shaking pretty bad around 3500-4000 rpm's. I. Checked the engine bay and saw on of the cooling lines rip inning from the block to the exhaust was leaking. After getting it back to the house, I checked the cooling line expecting to have to replace the hose. I couldn't locate any holes, so I just made sure that the hose was securely attached at both ends.

I was just wondering if the engine shudder could be caused by the leak. Any thoughts on this? The engine mounts are tight and the pump is clear of debris and seems to be spinning freely. The driveshaft also appears to be straight.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks,
Richard.
