Does anyone know about this selector knob under steering column, marking worn, it has 3 positions, and where does it need to be during running

Gas Pump symbol is on and for normal operation.
No gas pump icon is off and should be in this position when not in use.
RES is reserve so when you run out of fuel RES gives you about a gallon to get back to shore.

That’s actually an E , it’s a little worn too. That’s to switch to reserve gas.

Did you not read my comment above?
RES is reserve so when you run out of fuel RES gives you about a gallon to get back to shore.

It is not RFS, that is a KTM thing Racing Four Stroke.

Your picture in the 1st post shows it in the ON position 9 o'clock,
6 o'clock would be OFF.
3 o'clock would be REServe.
